Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has called an all-party meeting today. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting to be held at Singh Darbar at 2 p.m. will focus on the ongoing rescue, relief, and rehabilitation in the earthquake-affected areas. On the night of 17th October, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in Barekot Rural Municipality-1 Ramidanda of Jajarkot. In Jajarkot and its neighboring district Rukum West, 153 people died and 350 people were injured in the earthquake. Similarly, more than 17,700 houses have been completely damaged in both districts. The government has started the work of distributing relief materials through a one-door system and the work of arranging housing for them has also been progressed, he said. The government has already decided to provide relief of Rs 2 lakh per family to the families of those who died in the earthquake and free treatment to the injured.
